About Arnold Pietersen
Arnold Pietersen hails from Cape Town, Western Cape and has been building the technology capacity of individuals and organisations for the past 23 years in South Africa and Southern Africa. In his capacity as Executive Director of the Community Education Computer Society (CECS), Arnold has developed the skills, knowledge and attitude to work with a wide range of organisations in both a rural and urban setting.
Arnold was responsible for the design and implementation of an ICT Literacy project in 7 Southern African countries. Recently, he has developed a project for mathematics teachers; developed a manual on refurbishing of computers, conceptualised and developed a portal for free knowledge. Amongst other, Arnold has the capability to:
- Develop training and workshop materials
- Conduct train-the-trainer workshops
- Design, implement/manage, monitor and evaluate ICT projects
- Conduct workshops on open standards, the Information Society, strategic technology planning
Arnold holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Telecommunication and Information Policy as well as a Bachelor of Science degree with majors in Information Systems and Psychology from UNISA.
Arnold has a passion to empower and still believe in the old age slogan of: "Each one teach one"
