Check 1

1. Open your website in a browser.

2. Press Ctrl + U to view the source code of the website. You will see the following line near the top:

   <meta name="generator" content="Joomla! 1.5 - Open Source Content Management" />

or

  <meta name="generator" content="Joomla! 1.7 - Open Source Content Management" />

Check 2

1. Open your website in a browser.

2. Login to the backend.

3. The Joomla version will appear top right, above the word: Logout
